In many ways the themes explored in this book are why I read dystopian (or at least dystopian-leaning) science fiction; Same horrors, but a step removed from current reality. Have you read Kochland? Similarly excellent propulsive writing, deep research, and eye-opening exploration of the ways power and wealth work for the powerful and the wealthy, and for the concentric circles around them all the way out to "society."
