My Mother had a robust Agatha Christie collection which I enjoyed reading as a kid. Let's just say that I get sucked into watching Poirot on PBS to this day.
Totally agree. She artfully wove together stories surrounding periods of significant social change (The Roaring 20s, The Great Depression, the rise of fascism, WWII) into the basis for murder and mystery investigated by two timeless characters, Poirot and Miss. Marple. Classics!

And I think they really hold up, no? Sure, there are SOME elements that didn’t age particularly well but at their core, still legendary!
