SHAYNA - YES! Well, I didn't *hate* The Goldfinch but I was neutral to not great. And I *love* The Secret History so it was disappointing on that level too.
I have an idea for "Controversial Opinions" newsletter version and these two are ON IT.
I actually like her! If you haven't read it, you might really like The Signature of All Things - I thought it was great, not-fussy historical fiction (another newsletter to come).

Ooh I liked it! Unexpectedly! Had I fully processed who the author was I wouldn't have even picked it up.

I loved Prince of Tides an what you neglected to mention is that it has one of the biggest WHOPPERS of a plot twist ever. Whew.
